Interlocking Floor Tiles

How it all started

The Evertile story begins back in 1969, when the family firm Efel Processing was established in London by Shmaya Lew. As a young entrepreneur running his own textile factory, Mr Lew recognised the need for special flooring in the workplace. The standard flooring in factories at the time was concrete painting which was not-long lasting and had to be reapplied every few years. In addition it required the workplace to be closed while the flooring was being replaced resulting in loss of productivity. The fact that most factory floors were uneven and generally in a poor state, did not help matters.

Mr Lew therefore began to look into the invention of suitable flooring for the workplace. He'd recognised that work could not be interrupted for days at a time and that painted floors provided a cold atmosphere. So he set about creating a special, thick PVC tile that could be laid on all floors without the use of adhesives, through its special interlocking system. This ensured that customers could lay it themselves without disrupting their ongoing business activities. The new flooring was tough and thick ensuring that it could be used in heavy industrial factories and its durability, long-lasting qualities and that it could be lifted when required made it in to an asset rather then an overhead.

At the time this was a totally new concept, unheard of in the past, so people had to be convinced of the benefits. But now, almost 40 years later, it is a recognised system everywhere. We have sold the product worldwide from New York to Hong Kong.

Who we are

Today the firm is a thriving family business still retaining its ‘founding father’s’ innovative attitude. In 1981 we changed our name to Evertile Ltd to reflect our company’s products – durable and hard-wearing floor tiles.

Since the early years, we've expanded our product range dramatically. We have increased our designs and colours. In fact we can make almost any colour to suit the customer’s requirements. Although famous originally for industrial flooring, today we have expanded into the contract flooring market. Our latest catalogue features a range of decorative interlocking flooring for the retail and commercial sectors, providing more choice and a credible single source solution for all our customers.

These days Evertile products are trusted across all industries, from factories to supermarkets, hospitals to airports, nurseries to schools. Our flooring products can be found installed in public buildings, hotels, libraries, museums, airports, colleges, universities, leisure centres, gymnasia, high street shops, department stores etc. The Lew family continue to drive the business forward for the 21st Century.
